39 year-old woman 2 years after her right breast cancer was treated with a lumpectomy followed by radiation. Her right breast is scarred and missing tissue in the upper outer side, and her right nipple is pointing up and sideways.
Following 2 sessions of BRAVA + AFT, the radiated breast is fuller and softer, and we moved the nipple back to the normal position. To make her breasts match we also performed a natural breast lift of the left side without any incisions by weaving an internal bra inside the breast. The liposuctions also markedly improved her body contour.
Lumpectomy patients who received radiation & after 8 weeks of expansion BRAVA & lipo grafts.
BRAVA expansion for 3 weeks followed by fat grafting with extensive needle release of the scar (Rigottomy). 3 months after the procedure, the deformity is partially corrected and a near-normal breast contour is restored. While the patient is happy with the achieved result, another session of BRAVA + AFT would further soften her tissues and improve her symmetry.
61 year-old woman 3 years after her right breast cancer was treated with a lumpectomy followed by radiation. The lateral side of her breast was deficient and her nipple was pointing sideways. She had a deep gouging defect in her armpit from the lymph node removal and the radiation treatment and had chronic pain from the associated nerve damage.
|After 6 Months|
Appearance 1 year after 2 BRAVA + AFT treatment sessions with Rigottomies to loosen the scar and PALF maneuvers to move the nipple to the center. As a side benefit we improved her body contour. We also filled up the defect in the axilla, softened her breasts, and resolved her chronic pain.
41 year-old woman with breast cancer was treated with a lumpectomy followed by radiation. The tissue deficiency in the upper part of the breast displaced the nipple upward. The only treatment alternative offered by her plastic surgeons was to transfer a flap. Instead, she came to the Miami Breast Center where she had two BRAVA + AFT treatment sessions 3 months apart.
|After 1 year|
Extensive Rigottomy of the radiated scar was necessary to make room for the fat grafts, and the PALF procedure generated the upper breast tissue needed to bring the nipple down. She ideally needs a repeat procedure to fully correct the deformity.
63 year-old woman 2 years after her left breast cancer was treated with a lumpectomy followed by radiation. BRAVA treatment expanded the breast and loosened up the scalloped defect.
Fat grafting and Rigottomy release softened the radiation scarring and restored near-normal contour and symmetry.
