Breast Deformity Testimonial: Brenda

I'm 17 years old now. I went to see Dr. Khouri last year because I was born with an undeveloped muscle on one side of my chest. I didn't know much about him. The only thing I knew was . . . I was sixteen and wanted to be "normal."

I heard about Dr. Khouri from another doctor in Washington. He recommended him to us because he knew that Dr. Khouri's new procedure was less invasive than anything else out there.

When I fully understood the surgery, I was very happy. I would have to wear this suction cup (the BRAVA) for about a month, depending on the skin expansion. Afterward, Dr. Khouri would get fat from my body and place it in the right place (my breast) where I have the lack of muscle. I was so excited . . . what girl my age wouldn't want to have their body sculpted!

I'm not going to lie though. I was worried about whether it would work or not, but after wearing the BRAVA (which is uncomfortable at the beginning but after a couple of days I got used to it) for several weeks, I was ready for my surgery in Miami. It was a long distance away from my home in Arkansas, but the trip was worth it.

I stayed in the surgery center for 10 hours, but I also needed a lift in my normal breast which was too low for my age. I think the most important thing was not the time spent on my surgery but the time that Dr. Khouri was dedicated to me. He took his time to make everything perfect, just like Picasso took his time to paint those wonderful masterpieces. I love the way Dr. Khouri works, and I love his care for us as his patients.

The whole process of being a "new me" began on March 7, 2012 when I met with Dr. Khouri for the first time. My first surgery was May 9. At the time I am writing this, I'm wearing the BRAVA for two more months and soon my second and last surgery will take place on August 9. By September, everything will be like a dream come true.

It seemed like a long six months, but thanks to Dr. Khouri, I have seen a difference in my body, my life, and my self-esteem. I've gone from being completely flat on one side to having form and shape. It hasn't been easy, but it is really worth it, especially for a young girl my age who was always worried about my uneven chest. I had always tried to cover myself up so that nobody would notice.

I know surgery has helped me to see myself in a different light. I'm so thankful to my God for leading me to the right doctor and this amazing new procedure. It's been a huge blessing in my life.
