Dr. Khouri Welcomes Out of Town Patients
VIDEO TRANSCRIPTS
At Miami Breast Center, we really have a breakthrough procedure. And we are having women from all over the planet come to us.
We have patients from Singapore, from Hong Kong, from Alaska, from Australia, from England come and see us for surgery.
We do offer a unique procedure.
I really hope to get more plastic surgeons to offer it to their patients back home, but until then, a lot of women like to come here and have me perform the operation.
We have; we have a nice setup for our international patients and out-of-town patients. We have a lot of lodging around our surgery center; we have nice hotels who can lodge you. We have nurses that can help you or even stay overnight with you if you need to.
Typically, what I like to do is see you once before your surgery. I'd like you to come over to Miami, to the Miami Breast Center so that you and I can meet. I want you feel comfortable with me, and I want to feel comfortable operating on you.
You need to get to know me; I need to get to know you. I want to answer all your questions straight up.
I want to examine you, evaluate your problem, and make you comfortable; that I understand you and I can take care of your problem. Sometimes I can't.
After that one meeting, typically you will require the use of the BRAVA, if needed. Most of my patients, if we're going to fat graft a breast, require BRAVA.
You get your BRAVA device, you order it online, it will be delivered to you, and you'll start wearing it.
We'll exchange information. I'll make sure you're growing, and then we'll set a date for your surgery.

I like you to come in the day before, make sure everything's OK. Typically, the patients have the operations as outpatient. They come in, we do the procedure, they go to the motel or to the furnished apartment right next door.
If they have family; family with them. If they don't have family, we can provide them with a nurse that can help them; stay with them. Very experienced nurse.
And I like you to stay for at least three days. I'll check you out the day of your departure, make sure you're OK, and you fly back home. Then we'll keep on the follow-up, through emails, through phone. And, hopefully, I'd like to see you again.
If you're having a breast reconstruction, the procedure typically takes multiple steps. We rarely can do it in just one operation.
Typically, we do two, three, and if you were radiated, maybe four, or five if you have radiation damage that we need to overcome; you have implants and radiation, that takes more steps.
We'll stay in touch. You'll come back the next time, the day before, plan to stay three days after, and fly back home. We'll get to know each other.
You'll get to like the area here. We live in a beautiful environment, certainly very nice when it's cold up north to be here in the winter.
I have many patients from all over the world delighted with the results, and I travel a lot and sometimes I even get to see them when I'm traveling.
