Is the liposuction and fat transfer done uner local anesthesia?

I am a petite frame 5"3 1/2 inches tall and 115 lbs. I have some areas of concern like saddlebags, but am concerned about my size and the elimination of too much fat since I know this can be a serious issue during liposuction. What is your feeling on this?
Where do I send my signed consent form and pre op results?
The consent form also says that I need follow-up appointments after 2 weeks, 3 months and 6 months as well as an MRI, 5 months afterwards. I was never told this and was not expecting to fly back to Miami. Please let me know what's necessary.

Is the liposuction and fat transfer done under local anesthesia?

This is your choice. We have a board certified anesthesiologist who will evaluate you and you make that decision with him.

Are the fat injections done only during a liposuction operation?

Yes, fat injections are done at the same time as liposuction. We do not store the liposuctioned fat, we inject it fresh. Our liposuction method is very gentle and we harvest the fat diffusely with very fine needles that leave a smooth improved contour with very little chances of irregularities.

What is the amount or type of scarring?

This procedure does not require cutting or suturing so the only signs are tiny holes from the liposuction. With time those go away.

Are there a certain number of office visits?

Typically there is a first visit where we fully evaluate you, answer all your questions, get the baseline MRI of the breasts and get you fitted with the BRAVA. This can be arranged to be done all on the same day. Then after the 4 weeks of BRAVA wear, you come back for the liposuction and fat grafting procedure. This will be a small out patient procedure. Many of our patients are from out of town and come over on a Friday and fly back on the Tuesday. Finally ,we recommend you come back for a third visit 6-9 months post grafting so we can evaluate your final result and obtain a follow up breast MRI.

The consent form was made for local patients. Don't worry ... with out of state patients we do follow up by e-mail as long as the patient sends photos every week. The 5-month MRI is necessary however and was stated in the original contact e-mail.
